Native American Zuni bear fetish by Carl Etsate
This lovely bear fetish was created by famous Zuni artist Carl Etsate of Mexican Onyx with a medicine bundle of a Mother-of-Pearl arrow head tied with sinew. One of the six most revered and powerful guardian fetishes in the Zuni universe, bears are believed to be potent healing animals, providing strength and well-being and curative abilities. The bear represents strength and self knowledge and is a symbol of deliberate action, introspection, soul and insight for the past and the future. The bear is the guardian of the West and one of the animals the Six Directions.
