    USS ZUMWALT DDG-1000 New US Navy Stealth Destroyer cover
    with a Feb 28, 2021 pictorial postmark from Lincoln, NE.
    Cover franked with a 55 cent flag stamp plus a 3 cent USN stamp from 1946.
    Cover with DIY matte and 5x7 frame makes a fine gift for former sailor.
    USS Zumwalt is the first of a new class of US Navy destroyers.

    This 600 foot Zumwalt Class destroyer was built in Bath, Maine and
    was commissioned on October 16, 2016.
    The ship was designed as a stealth platform with four different types of guided
    missile weapons, two 155mm electro-magnetic gun and two helicopters. The
    guided projectile for this gun is very costly and replacements are being considered.
