    Description

    This is a sculpture made by noted Cochiti Pueblo artist Wilson Romero.  He calls these "mysterious eagles".  It is polished on one side, the other was left with the surface as found.  Brown color.
    Measures about 7" tall, by 4" wide, by 2 1/2" deep.  Sits nicely on a bookshelf.
    Wilson and his brother Salvadore specialize in working "found rocks" on the Pueblo that suggest animal forms to them.  They then do minimal carving to bring out the spirit of the piece.
    I purchased this in Santa Fe, New Mexico, late 1990's.
